Irresolution (徊) is a duet for piano and Chinese dulcimer (扬琴yangqin). It is the composer’s spiritual journey of searching and realizing his inner self and emotions. The different spaces represent the undefined irresolute emotions, from ambiguity to a clearer state of sadness, which at last comes to a resolution. Compositionally, the composer creates multiple spaces by building different soundscape textures, and leads the emotional flow through the spaces.
